Prescribed Reading List

As a language A: literature SSST student you will have to read seven books. All of them have to be selected from a list of authors that the IB has created, called the Prescribed reading list (click here). 

Requirements

There are some requirements that have to be met when selecting the works for the SSST course:

• A minimum of three must be written originally in the language studied, by authors on the Prescribed reading list
• A minimum of two must be works that have been translated into the language of the course (these need to have been written by authors on the Prescribed reading list in a language different from the one studied)
• Works must be selected to cover three literary forms, three periods and three countries or regions (as defined on the Prescribed reading list) in at least two continents.
